How do I clear this entirely and start from scratch?

I can't seem to get a fresh start to use a folder of selected samples.

Hi ! to use a folder as a dataset you have to go to "New -> From a folder" and then select the folder you want to use. ASt will search that folder and all its sub-folders for audio files and will create a new map out of it.

Hi! I'm also having issues with creating a new project. When i click New folder, and choose the folder, it seems to process the files, but when the load is complete it doesn't show the new project, but the default project instead. With "slice long recording" option it seems to work fine, but the folder-option doesn't.

Any ideas how to fix it?

My guess is that the selected folder hasn't got enough files, it should have more than 10 wav or mp3 files.

If you could complete the entire process using slice long recording, then something is wrong with the selected folder because the process after slicing is the same as choosing a folder.

In the folder I have sometihng like 50 normal wav files, quite short ones.

This isn't the first time someone reported this, but our team is not able to reproduce it.

What operating system are you using? Any Error/Information window ? Can you share the files used, they would be of tremendous help.

Windows 10. No error messages, it just says "hooray your set is ready, now adjust the settings etc..." but then there still is just the previously loaded project, usually the "default project".

I tried to combine all the clips into one long wav clip and then use the slice option, but it didnt work either, same messages and problems. It lets me to adjust the slicing options etc, then starts processing, and end result is just the same. Its weird, since it did work previously, but I have no idea what is differently this time.

If you want the files, I can send them, if you give me an email address! Just some random field recordings from a student group, planned to do some kind of interactive installation with it.

Hi Aimo, can you tell us what version of AudioStellar are you using ?

You can find this information in "Help > About"

Also, in the folder where you installed AudioStellar, check if there is a file called "interprocess". It might be in the bin/ directory. Delete it if you find it and try again please.

I don't seem to find a way to create a new sound map and, although i haven't use audiostellar since quite a while now, this has never occured before to me.
I'm currently using windows 10 and AS 1.4 (i downloaded it and re-installed it yesterday).
I've tried both ways: by creating from a folder and by compiling all my audio files into a single longer file and neither of those seem to work.
In the first case, AS creates the new sound map but an error messege appear showing "couldn't find 158 sound files in folder C:/...etc" (so, there are suposed to be 158 files out of 183 i'm using). And by using the second way it gets wierd because it reads the file, it chunks it in little pieces (i can select the sensitivity and all) but then, when i hit "run" it goes back to the "create a sound map from a folder" way.
If you want i can record my screen while doing it so you can see the whole process or i can send you the folder im working with.
I would really like to solve this since i wish to use this as part of the process of a master's seminar im currently working on (and also to have fun with this amazing software).

Hola, estoy teniendo un problema similar al de Aimo.
No encuentro la manera de crear un nuevo mapa de sonido y, aunque hace rato que no uso Audiostellar, esto no me había pasado antes.
Tengo Wind10 y AS 1.4 (ayer reinstalé la última versión disponible desde la web).
Probé de ambas formas: creándolo desde una carpeta y compilando todos mis archivos de audio en un único archivo más. Pero ninguna de las dos parece funcionar.
En el primer caso, AS crea el nuevo mapa de sonido, pero aparece un mensaje de error que dice "couldn't find 158 sound files in folder C:/...etc" (se supone que hay 158 archivos perdidos de los 183 que estoy usando).
Con el segundo método es más raro aún porque lee el archivo, lo chopea en pequeños pedazos (puedo seleccionar la sensibilidad y todos los parámetros), pero cuando presiono "Ejecutar", vuelve al menú de "crear un mapa de sonido desde una carpeta".
Puedo grabar mi pantalla mientras lo hago para que puedan ver todo el proceso o puedo enviarles la carpeta con la que estoy trabajando. Lo que haga falta. Realmente me gustaría resolver esto, ya que deseo trabajar con AS como parte del proceso de un seminario de maestría en el que estoy trabajando actualmente (y también para divertirme con este soft increible, obvio).

Hola Piel Dorada,

Make sure your files doesn't contain non-english characters (ñ, acentos, etc), also you username on windows shouldn't have these characters, this is a problem on Windows that we can't fix. The whole path to audio files should not contain these characters.

Also make sure you didn't move your audio files after creating your sound map

you can always move your audio files (wav or mp3) to a simple path like C:\sonidos and try from there, let me know how it goes
